I'll overwhelm 'credible combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight round contest which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters came face-to-face to promote next month's boxing match.

Ex twice world heavyweight champion Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Fighter's Attitude

"I will break his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.

"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to seriously aim to hurt him. That's my goal."

Civil Exchange

Despite such comments, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally known for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.

Paul instead targeted ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "a joke" after Ngannou declined a match opportunity.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at British rival Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is better than Fury - he's present here," the boxer said.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Opponent

Despite stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Paul's History

Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in last year.

Financial Attraction

Still, the novice remains one of the sport's largest commercial attractions, regularly earning substantial paydays.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old predicted a KO victory in round four or five and stated he would derail the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly under discussion for two years from now.

"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.

Size Difference

As both boxers participated in the traditional stare-down, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it emphasized just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the match is actually proceeding.
